How to measure for a corona pad
Share
The best-looking corona pads frame the saddle, following the curves and contours as much as possible. To achieve this, making a tracing of the saddle while on the horse with a sheet over a pad cinched up and adjusted as it would be for use is the most accurate. This way also requires the most effort and let's face it, some of these beautiful silver saddles are HEAVY! So, the alternative is to take measurements with a soft tape measure.
- Length of skirt from front edge to back edge.
- Width of skirt at the front, allowing for the withers.
- Width of the back of the skirt, even if the skirt appears to be square, it often isn't, and the rear skirt will be different from the front.
- The length from the front edge to the fender.
- The width of the fender.
